Garrett Edson

Garrett Edson is a Wealth Advisor at Clarus Group, where he provides financial planning and investment advisory services to individuals and small-business owners. Before joining Clarus, Garrett spent several years inside the creative industry as an audio engineer and technical product manager, contributing as an assistant engineer on the Academy Award-winning score for Dune and earning a Grammy nomination for his work on the film. He then spent two years as the founder of a hardware startup, leading product development and operations. That combined experience gave him first-hand knowledge of the financial realities creative professionals and small-business founders face, and a deep respect for the long, often invisible work behind any visible result. 

He earned his Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music. He holds the Series 65 license and is pursuing the CFP® certification. He is a committee member of the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles and enjoys volunteering with FPA pro bono clinics, serving the planning needs of under-served communities. 

He lives in Hermosa Beach, CA with his fiancée. He is an active triathlete, an Ironman 70.3 finisher, and serves on the Advisory Committee of LA Tri Club. Outside of work and training, he enjoys mentoring and tending to his bonsai trees
